Ancient Egyptian Faience Ushabti - Late Period 27th Dynasty - Hieroglyphs
Culture: Egyptian Period: 27th Dynasty or later style (525 - 332 B.C.)
Size: 11.3cm long by 3 cm wide x 1.9cm depth
Condition: Perfect - Intact with no repairs. A superb piece.
This superb example is a lovely blue in colour, wears a tripartite wig, false beard, and a detailed seed sack slung over his left shoulder. The ushabti carries a hoe and pick and has a back pillar. There is a T-Band of hieroglyphic inscription spanning the waist and continuing down the front of the leg case. This particular "T-band" configuration of the inscription tells us that the figure dates to the 27th Dynasty or later
